MuseWeb 21 #MW21

March 24, 2021 in Museum Related News

Calling all students and researchers!

MuseWeb, the largest museum technology conference in North America, is pleased to invite all currently enrolled students and researchers to our 25th annual conference to be held online April 5-7th, 16th, 23rd, and 30th at the new student membership rate of $150.00!

Some of MW’s most popular sessions invite participants to engage directly with their peers and colleagues to address the topics that matter most to them. The traditional Birds of a Feather conversations, our lively Crit Rooms, and a newly formatted Inclusive Design: Museum Practice are open to all members, and we encourage you to sign up now to guarantee a slot in these timely, interactive sessions. Register for annual membership program to attend online conference here: https://mw21.museweb.net/registration/

In addition to this, MW also hosts a series of hand-on workshops. Whether you're curious about building an interactive storytelling experience, learning negotiation strategies for museum IT pros, virtual reality, open data, or a limitless list of other fascinating topics, these in-depth workshops will give you practical knowledge on how to implement innovative ideas and succeed in your desired area of museum practice. Check out our complete list of workshops: https://mw21.museweb.net/program/

This year, our opening keynote speaker, Lonnie Bunch, the 14th secretary of the Smithsonian Institution and Founding Director of the Smithsonian’s National Museum of African American History and Culture will lead a talk addressing the challenges faced by museums today which will be followed by a tour of the NMAAHC.

Conference proceedings are peer-reviewed and selected papers and sessions are published both online and in-print.

We want to hear from you! It has been a year unlike any other, and we want to rise to the challenge of bringing the community together to share our stories, insights, and struggles. Use the MW submission form to share your ideas for how MW21 can be a place of contemplation, fellowship, and renewal. Look out next week for information on big changes to the GLAMi Awards honoring the best digital projects and ideas of the year: https://mw21.museweb.net/submit-proposal/

Sign up for or renew your annual student membership to attend MW21 today!

Student rates cannot be combined with any other discounts.
